President's Message

President's Message

CREDI welcomes new and returning students, faculty and staff for another Academic year. Our wish is that this year be truly transformative for each one of you. The present educational climate is marked by turbulence, with changes taking place faster than some of us can adjust. This is not a time to look back at what was, but a time to eagerly look forward and embrace the opportunities that present themselves.

As students, you need to re-focus, work hard, and live the sound ethical values that characterise a CREDI education. You need to draw on your imagination, create a vision of where you want to go, “your futures in the present” and push through the barriers and boundaries that attempt to contain you and your vision for yourselves. You have it in you to bring about positive change in the world we live in.

As faculty, you have an awesome responsibility. You share in the task of shaping the characters of your charges, as you model and live the ethical values that you teach. In the face of all the negativity and distractions of social media, the breaking down of structures and systems across the globe, you need to continue to provide not only stability, but opportunities for our students to achieve their God-given potential.

We at CREDI are dedicated to the holistic development of all our members. While we maintain our Catholic identity, we welcome persons of all religions, and are committed to the inherent value of every person regardless of race or gender. We have adjusted our strategic direction, and have re-focused on a new vision, “Servant Leaders for Human Dignity and Social Justice.” This vision reminds us that our mission is service, to serve and empower those with whom we interact, to be exemplars, like Jesus Christ, influencing the thinking and behaviours of all our members. Our vision is the thread that runs through all our programmes; it speaks to respect for human dignity and responsibility to the underprivileged and those denied justice because of poverty or circumstance.

Our wish is that CREDI continues to serve as a beacon of hope for those that seek a unique and spirit-filled experience.
